I had the opportunity to be doing some work for a client and as I was passing a row of cubicles I heard the tell-tale barfing sound. I wandered into cubicle-hell and found a new worker sitting in front of what was obviously a hand-me-down Macintosh. I asked if the machine always made that sound and she said yes and that it must be sick or something. She seemed like a nice person so I went digging around and found that someone had marked the init file as invisible. I deleted the file. The user was quite relieved to be free of the upchucking sound.
